LATEST NEWS!

Supermoon Lunar Eclipse

On the night of September 27th, 2015 a supermoon lunar eclipse was seen in the sky around the world.

A supermoon is when there is a full moon orbiting closest to the Earth.  It gets 13% bigger.

A lunar eclipse happens when the earth is between the moon and the sun and the three of them are aligned. The moon turns reddish because the light of the sun which passes through the Earth’s atmosphere is reflected on the moon.

Water on Mars!

Long, long ago, 20% of Mars was made of water, but it dissolved into space. The only bit left froze and it is now ice. This ice turned into the ice caps found in Mars! A few days ago scientists discovered a bit of salty "more liquid" water. This makes scientists think that there could be life on Mars...

The Moon

Did you know?

The moon is one more of the three hundred other celestial bodies that circle the planets in the Solar System. It was made of many rocks that were floating around earth and got together.
The Moon doesn't have light. It is like a mirror that projects the light from the Sun to the Earth.

The Sun

Did you know?

The Sun is the one of many stars in space. Is a big ball of gas. Without the heat and light from the Sun, there would be no life on Earth.

It is the closest star to planet Earth. There are stars bigger than the Sun in space, but the Sun is nearer so we see it bigger!

The temperature on the sun is 9939 Fahrenheit. Its heat produces energy.

How and why do Planets move?
